HAPPY VALLEY RED

Our red blend is meant to capture the very best of the vineyard each year. This release includes our 2020 Grenache, Malbec and Syrah. This beautifully balanced medium bodied wine has rich flavors of red fruit, chocolate, coffee, and hints of smoke.

  • COMPOSITION: 57% Grenache, 27% Malbec, 16% Syrah
  • HARVEST: Grenache/Syrah on September 12, 2020; Malbec on September 21, 2020
  • AGING: 28 months in French oak, 50% new
  • ALCOHOL: 14.8%
  • BOTTLING: January 29, 2023

Our Happy Valley Red is always blended to reflect the best of the Ojai Alisal vineyard for the vintage year. The 2019 is a medium body red blended from our Grenache, Syrah, Malbec and Mourvèdre, with flavors of dark fruits including cherries, plums and blackberries, hints of coffee and tobacco, with a long peppery finish.

With only half the vines surviving the fire, our 2018 Happy Valley Red is a true field blend with all the grapes co-fermented together in the same barrels. Made to reflect the best of the Ojai Alisal vineyard each vintage year, this medium body red, is a smooth blend of our Grenache, Syrah Mourvedre, and Malbec, with flavors of cherries, plums and blackberries, along with hints of tobacco, chocolate and leather.
